About Sunshine COast Acupuncture

Dr Kylie Wall

Doctor of Chinese Medicine & Registered Acupuncturist (BHSc. Acu)

Some of my earliest memories are of massaging family members, my hands seeming to have an intuitive will to soothe and bring healing.

I never stopped wanting to help people feel better, especially by sensing how we need to unblock energy by moving or touching the body to let things flow.

Having had the influence of a Mum interested in natural approaches to health and through my own self-inquiry, taking a big picture approach to the integration of body, mind and soul was inevitable.

It wasn’t until I was living in London that I formally stepped onto the holistic health path, when a bad cold led me beyond what the local chemist offered and into a Chinese medicine shop. It was there I first experienced acupuncture, followed up with some herbs to take home. My cold quickly improved, with a sense of rightness in the way I felt.

I never looked back, realising that learning about our energy systems and how to move Qi – or life force energy – is foundational in how we can restore harmony to help all kinds of conditions.

Before long, I earned my first massage qualification and went on to learn acupuncture, cupping and how to use herbs and diet in support. I undertook yoga teacher training and where suitable, love to incorporate this as part of a treatment plan. I’m also interested in other holistic approaches, including essential oils and sound healing.

Like many women, I’ve experienced challenges with the reproductive system and realise its relationship with our deeper feminine essence. I have a real respect and concern for all this can entail for women, and want to holistically improve health in these finely-tuned systems.

I also have particular interest in helping with gut, mental and musculoskeletal health, as well as pain management.

Every day I find it inspiring to remember we only have one shot at life as the unique person we are, so let’s do all we can to enjoy the ride to the full. Life offers so many pleasures with reasons to celebrate it all around.

It can also throw things in the way that can set us off-kilter, and I care deeply about doing all I can to restore the true state of harmony and help you…

Simply, feel better.

        Dream travel destination?

Trekking in Peru and also visiting Bolivia and Costa Rica but I’m also planning another snowboard trip somewhere. Japan or Canada?

But a yoga retreat in Bali is also calling.

        Fun facts about me

        I’m a fur-Mum to Becks, George, Mittens and Cotton-sox.

I love all animals bar two…. cane toads and snakes.
After coming face to face with a snake as a young girl after it murdered my cat, I’m definitely traumatised.

        Fun facts about me

        Beach or Bush?

I honestly can’t choose. I am an earth sign and love the mountains and the bush but I’m a water baby and the ocean is my happy place.

        Fun facts about me

In my younger years as a backpacker, I lived with a family in Oaxaca, (pronounced wuh haa ka) Mexico for five weeks going to school every day studying Spanish.

Fue muy divertido! (it was so much fun).

        Fun facts about me

I hate coffee. The smell, the taste. I’ve never drunk a cup in my life.
All those years of living in London have made me a tea lover for life.
